Wildwood's beaches are legendary - over 1,000 feet wide and completely free. You'll walk a while to reach the water, but there's endless space. Ocean City beaches require badges ($5/day) but are closer to the boardwalk and well-maintained. Both have lifeguards.

Wildwood's Morey's Piers have over 100 rides including world-class coasters like The Great Nor'Easter. Ocean City has Gillian's Wonderland Pier (great for younger kids) and Playland's Castaway Cove. Both have mini golf, arcades, and water parks nearby.

Ocean City is famous for Manco & Manco Pizza and is a dry town - no alcohol anywhere. Wildwood has more variety including Sam's Pizza, Curley's Fries, and restaurants that serve alcohol. Both have excellent boardwalk food.

Wildwood has a strip of classic 1950s-60s "Doo Wop" motels that are affordable and nostalgic. Ocean City has more upscale rentals and some boutique hotels. Both have plenty of vacation rentals.

Ocean City is about 1 hour from Philadelphia. Wildwood is about 45 minutes further south. Both are accessible via the Garden State Parkway. Parking is metered in both towns; Wildwood lots can be cheaper.
