Slough off the New Jersey coast
The easternmost of the northern Hereford slough series, covering approximately 44 acres at the 120-foot depth contour. The northeast position provides an offshore approach angle from Wildwood or Cape May, making it a natural first or last stop on a slough-hopping trip. Sea bass and tautog are reliably present on the structure; weakfish move through the channel in summer. Fall sea bass season (September through November) is peak time, with fish concentrated on slough edges before moving to deeper winter grounds. Slow-drift baited bottom rigs along the slough structure for consistent action on this well-proportioned ground.
These different profiles constitutes a wavy area.
