Slough off the New Jersey coast
A northern section of the Hereford Inlet 120-foot slough complex, positioned toward the upper range of this depth zone and accessible from both Wildwood and Sea Isle City. The northern grounds sometimes overlap with migration corridors used by striped bass moving along the depth contour in spring and fall. Sea bass and tautog are the mainstay targets, but keep a rod rigged for bass during migration windows. The slough character focuses fish, and drifting the full length of the structure is the most effective approach. Charter boats from Cape May County work this ground as part of multi-stop slough trips.
