About This Ground

One of several sloughs tracking the 120-foot depth line in the northern Hereford Inlet fishing zone, positioned on the western edge of the northern cluster. This slough follows the depth contour consistently, holding sea bass and tautog bottom structure throughout the season. The northern position in the slough series makes this ground accessible from both Hereford Inlet and the more northerly ports of Sea Isle City. Sea bass dominate the catch in fall; plan a trip when the current is manageable for working the slough properly. Moving water through this section of the 120-foot zone concentrates fish on the slough edges and is a reliable indicator of feeding activity.

The profiles constitutes a weavy area which surrounding area is characterized by sandy and shelly material as a bottom type.
