An eastern slough section at the 120-foot depth zone in the central Hereford Inlet complex. This ground sits slightly east of the main slough alignment, bringing it closer to the offshore approach line from Cape May and Stone Harbor. Sea bass and tautog are the primary targets at this depth, with the slough structure providing natural ambush points. The eastern position keeps this ground accessible even in moderate sea conditions. Fall sea bass season sees the best action, with fish stacking on structure ahead of their winter migration to deeper water. Fish with dropper-loop rigs baited with squid strips or sea clams.
