About This Ground

A 69-acre slough following the 120-foot depth line in the central-south portion of the Hereford Inlet fishing complex. Part of an interconnected series of sloughs that track the depth contour, this ground holds sea bass, tautog, and weakfish in the 120- to 130-foot zone. Mid-channel drifts over the slough produce consistent action from June through November. Charter boats working out of Cape May County rotate through this ground when the bite is on at the nearby wrecks and reefs. Bring heavier sinkers — the current runs strong through the slough channel at this depth.

These different profiles constitutes a wavy area.
