About This Ground

A small offshore reef (approximately 17 acres) just east of its companion ground at the Hereford Inlet offshore zone. The two reefs here sit in close proximity, and many captains drift between them on the same trip. Sea bass are the primary target, holding on the reef structure throughout the season. The slightly eastern position provides a different drift angle than the paired reef to the west — useful when wind and current don't align perfectly for either reef alone. Best fished in September through November when sea bass concentrate on structure. Stone Harbor and Hereford Inlet offer the closest departure points for these paired offshore reefs.

The surrounding characteristics are composed by sandy material and plain in the north of it and lumps ( "Five Fathom Bank") in the southe of it as a bottom type.
