The southernmost of three sloughs at 13 nautical miles southeast of Cape May Reef, tracking the 60-foot contour in the outer New Jersey offshore zone. The southern position is typically the first ground reached when approaching from Cape May on the southeast bearing. At 60 feet, sea bass and fluke are the primary targets, with stronger current than inshore grounds creating active feeding windows on the tide. Combine this slough with its northern and central companions on a full-day offshore trip from Cape May Inlet. The remoteness reduces competition, and morning tides often produce the best fishing before afternoon sea breeze builds short chop at this offshore position.
