Reef off the New Jersey coast
The northwestern Scallop Bottom parcel, 16 acres at 19.6 nautical miles east-southeast of Townsends Inlet. The smallest scrap of the shell-bed group still earns its stop: weakfish and fluke in summer, sea bass and tautog wherever shell thickens.
The bottom characteristics are sandy and shelly material.
