Plain Area off the New Jersey coast
A 14-acre speck of elevated bottom nearly 20 nautical miles east-southeast of Townsends Inlet, middle parcel of the three High Bottom grounds. Tiny footprint, sharp rise — fluke, weakfish, and sea bass pack the slope, and a single well-placed drift covers it.
The surrounding area is characterized with sandy material as a bottom type with isolated but described lumps.
