About This Ground

A large, narrow slough oriented northeast to southwest, located 2 nautical miles northeast of the northeastern corner of the Site 11 Reef. The elongated shape creates a long drift corridor, ideal for fluke and sea bass in summer and fall. Positioned at the intersection of inshore and offshore depth zones, this slough attracts a diverse species mix. The NE–SW orientation aligns naturally with the prevailing northeast swell, making drift fishing straightforward. The offset from the main reef means less boat traffic and fresher fish populations. Stone Harbor and Cape May offer convenient charter access, with most boats covering Site 11 and both northeast sloughs on a single offshore trip.

The surrounding area is characterized by sandy material as a bottom type.
