Lexington is an offshore fishing ground in NJ outer waters, named for a vessel or local reference among offshore captains. The ground marks productive bottom structure for sea bass, tautog, and bluefish. Tuna and bonito patrol the area above during summer and early fall migration. Most accessible from offshore NJ ports on extended offshore runs during peak fishing season.
