Buoy Area off the New Jersey coast
NOAA weather buoy 44025 anchors nearly 39 nautical miles east of Shark River, one of two overlapping grounds logged at the station. The buoy is the only structure for miles of open water — bluefish and bonito circle it, and tuna spreads detour past on the way to the deeper grounds.
