About This Ground

Witch's Chin is an offshore bottom feature in NJ waters near Shark River Inlet, named for its distinctive shape. The protruding ledge or ridge creates current breaks and productive baitfish concentrations. Sea bass and tautog hold on the hard structure below while bluefish and bonito work the surface above during summer. A regular stop for charter boats from Shark River and Belmar marinas.
