About This Ground
The Mouth is an offshore bottom feature in NJ waters where converging ground formations create a funnel-like structure. The concentrated water flow draws baitfish and the predators that follow. Sea bass and tautog hold on the hard bottom below while bluefish and striped bass work the mid-water during fall migration.
