Reef off the New Jersey coast
Pep's Lump rises from the bottom 10.6 nautical miles east-southeast of Hereford Inlet, a 47-acre parcel with an offshore sibling farther out. Fluke on the surrounding sand and bluefish, bonito, and albies over the rise make it a natural mid-run stop out of the Wildwoods.
The surrounding characteristics are composed by sandy material in the top of it as a bottom type. In the southern part there are several lumps.
