About This Ground

A mussel-bottom wreck site containing two distinct wrecks at 5 nautical miles northeast (60°T) of Hereford Inlet or 4 nautical miles southeast of Townsends Inlet. The mussel beds and twin wreck structure create exceptional habitat for sea bass, tautog, and striped bass. Mussel-covered wrecks attract smaller baitfish and crustaceans, supporting a diverse food chain that draws larger predators to the site. At roughly 135 acres, this is one of the larger wreck features in the Townsends Inlet vicinity. Spring and fall produce the best wreck fishing; summer can be productive with lighter gear targeting smaller sea bass. Stone Harbor and Townsends Inlet marinas provide the nearest access points.

The surroundings are plain inshore and there are lumps offshore of it. The bottom is composed by sandy material.
