Wreck Site off the New Jersey coast
The Oil Wreck rests about 11 nautical miles east of Shark River, one of two grounds logged under the name in this stretch. The wreckage gives sea bass and tautog vertical structure in otherwise open bottom, and striped bass orbit the site during their travels through the Bight.
