About This Ground
Full Access Zone — Axel Carlson North is a NJ DEP-designated accessibility reef site in the Manasquan Inlet offshore area, named in recognition of Axel Carlson's contributions to New Jersey's artificial reef and fishing access programs. The northern section provides additional hard-bottom habitat within the Full Access Zone complex for anglers and divers of all experience levels. Sea bass and tautog concentrate on the reef material, with bluefish and weakfish active in warmer months. Charter boats from Manasquan Inlet include this reef in their standard bottom-fishing rotation.
