Plain Area off the New Jersey coast
Cranford is a locally named fishing spot or vessel wreck off Shark River Inlet in NJ offshore waters. Named for a vessel or local landmark, this ground marks productive bottom structure for sea bass, tautog, and bluefish in the Shark River zone. The area is accessible from Belmar and Shark River marinas on standard afternoon bottom-fishing runs. Sea bass and tautog concentrate on the hard structure through spring, summer, and fall seasons.
