About This Ground

Brick Barge is an artificial reef site off Barnegat Inlet consisting of a sunken barge loaded with brick or construction materials, providing hard substrate on a sandy seafloor. The scattered bricks and barge hull create micro-habitat for sea bass, tautog, and weakfish. Fluke patrol the sandy edges in summer. Accessible on a moderate run from Barnegat Inlet or Barnegat Light marinas.
