About This Ground
An offshore ridge paralleling the 12-nautical-mile line at 60 feet deep, positioned just west of Sea Isle Ridge and 0.5 nautical miles northeast of a reference marker in Cape May County. The ridge channels fish and bait moving along the depth contour, making it productive for fluke in summer and sea bass in fall. The offshore-parallel orientation intercepts migrating fish following the 60-foot zone along the southern NJ coast. Townsends Inlet and Stone Harbor provide the closest charter access. In summer, the 60-foot zone produces quality fluke; fall transitions to sea bass on the ridge structure. Fish the ridge crest to work both sides of the structure on a single drift.
