Cape May Whale Watcher (Cape May), Bayshore Discovery (Atlantic Highlands), Belmar Marina dolphin trips. Cape May has highest whale-spotting rates; AH is best for dolphins.
May-October. Peak fin whale season: late summer (August). Dolphins year-round but most active May-October. Avoid windy days (forecasts cancel tours).
NJ ocean is 10-15°F cooler than land. Bring a windbreaker even on 80°F days. Boat speed adds chill. Layer is non-negotiable.
iPhones don't zoom enough for whales. Bring a real camera + 70-200mm lens. Or commit to memory and skip the photos. Both fine choices.

Cape May Whale Watcher has 95%+ whale-spotting rate in summer. Definitely worth it. Belmar dolphin tours have 90%+ dolphin rate. Atlantic Highlands varies. Most tours guarantee a refund or rebook if no sightings.
