Reef off the New Jersey coast
Mary Lou Slough carves through more than 5,500 acres of southern offshore bottom. The long depression is a natural fish highway: fluke and weakfish travel the cut, sea bass and tautog hold its harder walls, and bluefish push bait along the rim in summer.
The surrounding area is plain in the W and E of it and there are some big lumps on it. The bottom characteristics are sandy material.
