Reef off the New Jersey coast
The Hambone covers 445 acres of far-offshore bottom south of the Atlantic City grounds. It is pelagic water first: bluefish, bonito, and false albacore over the structure in season, and tuna trolled along its edges when the temperature breaks line up.
The bottom characteristics are essentially sandy material.
