Why Brigantine for July 4th?
Brigantine is the quiet barrier island immediately north of Atlantic City β all natural beach, no casinos, and a relaxed family vibe. While Brigantine doesn't run a big municipal launch of its own, it offers something better: the best seat in the house for Atlantic City's enormous July 4th fireworks.
From Brigantine's south-end beaches β especially the Cove and the Jetty β you look straight down the sand toward the AC skyline. The Tropicana's Independence Day fireworks burst over the water around 10 PM on July 4, and the Borgata's Fireworks by Grucci light up the bay side on July 3, so a long holiday weekend can deliver two shows.
Between fireworks, Brigantine offers miles of uncrowded beach, the historic Brigantine Lighthouse, and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. It's the calm, walkable alternative to staying in Atlantic City itself while still catching all the spectacle across the inlet.
