A big area with a funnel shape. Narrow close to the beach and wider toward the open ocean. Less than 0.5 nautical miles from the beach. 11 nautical miles NE (15 degrees T) from Brarnegat Inlet. Mainly sandy and gravel, but with some mud in the northern portion. The north shore grounds are most productive from April through November.
